8th Street N/R/W Subway Station Mosaic by Tim Snell
In honor of New York’s stormy weather today, I wrote down all the songs I could think of in the span of about 1 minute dealing with rain. Well, I left out ones that came to mind but I hate (ie Lightning Crashes by Live and It’s Raining Men by the Weather Girls).
What would you add to the list?
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Who’ll Stop the Rain
Neil Young – Be the Rain
Cracker (covering the Carpenters) – Rainy Days and Mondays
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Have You Ever Seen the Rain
New Edition – Can You Stand the Rain
Missy Elliot – I Can’t Stand the Rain
Supremes – Bad Weather
10,000 Maniacs – Like the Weather
Blind Melon – No Rain
Eurythmics – Here Comes the Rain Again
The Beatles – Rain
Cool fact: Rain was not on any original LPs. Recorded for Revolver, but it was released instead as a single along with Paperback Writer.
Regina Specktor – Rain Drops
Billie Holiday – Stormy Weather
Ok Go – Let It Rain
Sonic Youth – Rain King
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds – Tupelo
Jesus & Mary Chain – Happy When It Rains
Andrew Bird – Weather Systems
Echo & the Bunnymen – Ocean Rain
Preston School of Industry – Caught in the Rain
Bob Dylan – Hard Rain’s A Gonna Fall

Whatever, you love “It’s Raining Men.” I remember when we lived together you would play it 5-6 times in a row until the neighbors asked you to stop.
